PRESCHOOL

The staff members are professionals who are trained in early childhood education and/or related fields. They are qualified, dedicated and caring individuals who provide a nurturing environment as well as the stimulation and education necessary for the child’s development. Each staff member has longevity with the school. They each have individual talents that help to keep the flow of the day moving smoothly and effectively. All staff members are trained and certified in First Aid and CPR. Criminal record checks and child abuse history clearances are on record.

Amanda Ishaya

PRESCHOOL DIRECTOR

Introducing Amanda Ishaya, our brand new Preschool Director with a rich background in Education and a heartwarming personal touch! Amanda, a dedicated mom of five and loving wife, holds a Bachelor's degree in Religious Studies and Philosophy from West Chester University,  complemented by a Master's in Education from Western Governors University.
Amanda's journey in education is deeply rooted in the principles of Waldorf Education, reflecting her belief in a holistic, child-centered approach. As a mom of five, Amanda brings a genuine understanding of the joys and challenges of early childhood, infusing her leadership with a warm, nurturing spirit.
Her experience in the field of education has shaped her into a compassionate leader who recognizes the unique potential in every young learner. Amanda fosters a supportive atmosphere where teachers, parents, and children alike feel valued and understood. Her compassionate leadership extends beyond educational principles, creating a warm and inclusive community that prioritizes the well-being and growth of each individual.  Amanda excels at creating a community that feels like an extended family.
Amanda's Master's Degree in Education amplifies her ability to tailor learning experiences to the individual needs of preschoolers. Leading with warmth and understanding, she ensures that our preschool curriculum is not only academically sound but also developmentally appropriate, nurturing the cognitive, social, and emotional growth of young minds.

Nicki Babcock

2-DAY CLASS TEACHER
Mrs. Babcock joined the staff of St. John’s UCC Preschool in 2018, and she will serve as the head teacher for the two-day class. A native of Fargo, North Dakota, she graduated from North Dakota State University in 2005 with a B.S. in Child Development and Family Science. After working in early education for about 14 years, Mrs. Babcock moved to Bethlehem where she lives with her husband, son and daughter.




Sharon Longenbach

TEACHER OF THE 3-DAY CLASS & 2-DAY CLASS ASSISTANT TEACHER
Mrs. Longenbach has an associate degree in Early Childhood Education from Northampton Community College and additional credits from East Stroudsburg University. In 1996, she joined the staff at St. John’s UCC Preschool after working at both Olivet Wee Daycare and Holy Cross Daycare and Nursery School as the Head Teachers. Mrs. Longenbach and her husband live in Moore township and have two grown daughters.

Danielle Jaworek

3-DAY CLASS ASSISTANT TEACHER
Mrs. Jaworek has a B.S. in Psychology from Moravian College. Mrs. Jaworek lives in Nazareth with her husband and has three children who have gone through St. John’s UCC Preschool; she has been both a volunteer and a substitute teacher in the program in the past.

Kim Mills

3-DAY CLASS ASSISTANT TEACHER, SPANISH TEACHER &
LUNCH BUNCH COORDINATOR
Mrs. Mills joined the staff of St. John's UCC Preschool in 2022. She has a Master's Degree in Elementary Education from Cedar Crest College. She has an undergraduate degree in Business from Shippensburg University, where she also studied to earn her Minor in Spanish. Mrs. Mills lives with her husband and two children and Nazareth. Her daughter attended St. John's UCC Preschool during which time Mrs. Mills was a substitute in the classroom. Prior to that, she had experience in the public education system working as a Teacher, Instructional Aide, and Supervisor of a Daycare.
